At the end of the 19th century, a classification of Pomerol wines placed Rouget among the top five estates of the appellation. This recognition stems from the remarkable constancy showed by consecutive owners of the estate, who all worked hard to produce iconic wines. In 1992, Labruyère Family fell in love with Château Rouget. Convinced by the exceptional quality and potential of its terroir, they decided to purchase this dormant winery in order to bring it back to the forefront of the Pomerol appellation.
